About GISHIKI
At Gishiki, we believe in the power of small rituals. In our busy lives, even a few quiet minutes can make all the difference. For us, that moment is found in making matcha—sifting, whisking, and sipping with intention.
Our matcha is sourced from JAS-certified organic farms in Kagoshima, Japan. Our tea is made using rare cultivars like Asanoka and Sakimidori, prized for their natural sweetness and low astringency. The leaves are then traditionally stone-milled and processed in Uji, Kyoto which is Japan’s historic center of matcha craftsmanship. Our matcha is single-origin, first-harvest tea leaves, that offer a smooth, balanced flavor with notes of umami, gentle sweetness, and low astringency.
We created Gishiki to bring intention back into your day—through simple rituals that feel good.
We’re so glad you’re here, and we can’t wait to share this journey with you :)

Angie's Story
I started my first "dream" job out of college in investment banking. And everything seemed perfect on paper - the title, the paycheck, the bragging rights on LinkedIn. But in reality… I was so burnt out, working 80+ hours every week. I barely had time to rest, let alone enjoy and live out my 20s. I know a lot of us have been there, stuck on autopilot, always moving but never really living in the present...
Some of you might have discovered me through my banking vlogs on tiktok. After (a lot of) spiraling and late-night career crisis job searches, I finally quit my wall street job with no plan.
During that time, I visited Uji, Kyoto, home to some of the best matcha in the world, and signed up for a matcha-making class. It turned out to be so relaxing and therapeutic! Every step, from grinding to sifting to whisking, was intentional and slow. It made me feel present in a way I hadn’t in a long time.
Making matcha naturally became a part of my daily morning routine. Just ten minutes to sift, whisk and breathe—before the emails, meetings, and chaos. It became a ritual I actually looked forward to, and that small habit started making a big impact on how I showed up for the rest of my day.
That’s what inspired Gishiki. We all deserve little rituals that bring us back to ourselves.
I still work a corporate job, in marketing this time (surprise!). But building Gishiki is a passion that fuels me. I can’t wait to grow Gishiki with you and share the matcha that’s become such a grounding part of my own ritual.
