I started my career in investment banking right out of college. It was fast-paced and taught me so much, but working 80+ hours a week, I rarely made time to slow down. Some of you might know me from my banking vlogs on TikTok! Eventually I took a leap to find more balance and explore my next chapter.
During that time, I took a matcha-making class in Uji, Kyoto, home to some of the best matcha in the world. Every step was slow and intentional, and it made me feel present in a way I hadn’t in a long time.
Matcha soon became my morning ritual. Just ten minutes to whisk and breathe before the workday, and it changed how I showed up for the rest of my day. That’s what inspired Gishiki. We all deserve little rituals that bring us back to ourselves, whether at home or at the office.
Today I work full-time in marketing (surprise!) while building Gishiki alongside it. I’m so excited to share the matcha that keeps me grounded through both.

Rooted in our heritage, we create with intention and honor the cultures that inspire us.
We seek exceptional teas and ingredients, chosen for their character, quality, and provenance.
We bring people together through considered tea rituals, gifts, and shared experiences.
At GISHIKI, we believe in the power of small rituals. In our busy lives, even a few quiet minutes can make all the difference. For us, that moment is found in making matcha - sifting, whisking, and sipping with intention.
Our matcha is sourced from JAS-certified organic farms in Kagoshima, Japan. Our tea is made using rare cultivators like Asanoka and Sakimidori, prized for their natural sweetness and low astringency.
The leaves are then traditionally stone-milled and processed in Uji, Kyoto which is Japan's historic center of matcha craftsmanship. Our matcha is single-origin, first-harvest tea leaves that offer a smooth, balanced flavor with notes of umami, gentle sweetness, and low astringency.
